My Story

As an educational speaker and leadership coach, I am a husband to a kindergarten teacher, father of 3, and school principal to 540 students. As a young boy, I was very shy, but also born with self-confidence and a natural ability to lead people to be their best by coaching them in all areas of our work. I believe my work ethic started by delivering newspapers every day after school for 1,572 days in a row starting at the age of 9. Shortly after that, my shyness peaked when I asked a store clerk the cost of a baseball bat I wanted. My parents couldn’t believe I asked a stranger a question and knew I must really want that bat, so much so they bought it for me! I remember stopping the neighborhood baseball game daily and even convincing my friends to help me deliver papers so we could quickly get back to playing. I would find ways to make it fun and my friends would always follow my lead.

Now after 23 years in education, the last 16 in the role of assistant principal and principal, I am ready to service those around me that have been called to this great profession. Over the past 11 years as principal of Carterville Intermediate School we have had amazing success. We have created systematic processes to harness the greatest qualities in all staff members and ensure success for our students. I now call these processes and daily habits pieces of our Super System.

This is the time to service others. As your educational speaker, I will share both practical and easy to implement strategies and techniques to improve leadership, create super systems of success, and coach people to be the best version of themselves while finding joy both at work and in their personal lives.
